Fierro's Rock
I really don't know what I do without my family. My cutie pie sister, Alysha, was in town this weekend visiting and we all went to dinner tonight. I love that the simple act of eating together, laughing together and telling stories can be like getting a blood transfusion. A recharge and refresh if you will.
It also doesn't hurt that my family is quite adorable. Pretty much, Fierros Rock.

Great Strides SL & Living Traditions
What a fantastic day!! Great Strides Salt Lake was this morning at the Gallivan. This is a new venue for this year's walk and I really liked it. Christine did such an awesome job as our team captain for the Mucous Busters!
Love the shirts. I also got to see my very good friend Majda.
So then, after a little nap, I headed down to the 26th Annual Living Traditions Festival at Washington Square. This is of the many reasons that I L-O-V-E being in downtown SLC. This festivals kicks off the summer season and celebrates all the different ethnic and cultural groups in Salt Lake and Utah. I think it's nice for people to remember Utah is not as homogeneous as people think. My friend Ivonne and her daughter dance in a Latin American group that does a variety of different dances from different countries.
They were balancing glasses on their heads while they were dancing!
Jackie is a great dancer!
Ivonne's smile is definitely contagious.
Now here is another reason why I love downtown SLC. After the performance, walked around a bit, looked at some crafts and was about to leave, when I run into some of my Jepsen cousins, Megan and Lizzie!! Salt Lake is such a small town that just about every time I go somewhere, I run into someone I know. We watched the Brazilian Capoeira dancers and drank some wine; a perfectly lovely way to end the day.
Megan made a very astute observation about me as we talked. She said it sounded like there were so many great things happening for me recently and finally! I told her I think it is because I made room in my life for good karma to reach me. I had so much negativity blocking it all, that despite all the good I was trying to put out into the world, it just wasn't able to return to me. It makes me feel excited for my life, this summer and everything that is going to come that I don't know about yet :)

Great Strides - Ogden
This past Saturday, Christine, Katie and myself walked with the Strides for Sisters team for Ogden Great Strides. It was so cool! I've only done the SL walk before, so it was interesting to see what other communities do for their walks. The walk was gorgeous (but windy) along the Ogden River parkway. It was also really nice to see the Silva family, whom I love! I truly and sincerly hope that one day our efforts will help find a cure for CF!

BSN - RN

So I have officially graduated with my Bachelors of Science in Nursing from the University of Utah!! The last two years of my life have included some of the most rewarding, challenging and crazy experiences that I've ever had. When I look further back than that, the last 5 years of me planning, working and doing everything I could to become a nurse has really given me a new definition to my list of qualities: Mom, Friend, Daugther, Sister, and now Nurse.

Oh for the love

So, maybe I just update this thing once a year?!!?? Now I really know that I've gone head over heels on FB. But while I often update on there about how I'm feeling for the moment, I notice that I don't say ALOT of other things. Like, Marc and I are getting divorced. Idk, that just seems way to huge to post as a status update. I can't believe that yet another year has passed and once again I find my life has completely changed!! I'm graduating (!) in less than two weeks, Adam and I moved out of the condo and into our new apartment almost two months ago. So perhaps, I should really use this forum to say all things I can't say on FB. Then that way I can get things off my chest and not worry about how many "likes" or crazy comments I'll get. I'm sure I can find things to talk about: being single again, looking for a grown up RN job, having a son who will be 18 in a few months, my cat. Yeah, this blog will rock ;)

Well, two years later and I'm not a very good blogger. I have to admit to having succombed to the charms of FB. It's just so easy.
I'm finishing up my first year of nursing school and it has been quite the adventure. I'm really looking forward to summer vacation; not because I don't like school, I love it. I just really miss feeling rested! I've made some fantastic friends this year, who have totally helped me maintain my sanity.
Marc and I just celebrated our one year wedding anniversary! In May, we will have been together for 5 years. Where does the time go?
So, I will really try to be better at this, really...really.
